Terry,

The shooter who murdered my sweet little Daniel took ten 30-round gun magazines with him into Sandy Hook Elementary. He deliberately left the smaller magazines at home.

It only took him approximately four minutes to shoot 154 bullets, killing 20 children and six educators. In the blink of an eye, Daniel was gone forever.

But as the shooter paused to reload between magazines, 11 children were able to escape. It's hard not to wonder if Daniel might still be here had only smaller magazines been used that day.

It's too late to save my kindhearted boy, but it's not too late to save another parent's child. That's why I need your urgent help. Legislation to limit the size of ammunition magazines to 10 rounds was introduced in Congress – but lawmakers have so far refused to vote on this lifesaving bill.

We cannot allow Congress to continue putting children's lives at risk: That's why it's critical that we collect 50,000 petition signatures this week demanding lawmakers finally pass this legislation before more lives are senselessly lost. Will you please sign our petition now?

Please click here to sign our petition demanding Congress immediately make high-capacity gun magazines illegal. This is commonsense legislation that will help protect more children like my sweet little Daniel from gun violence.

We cannot accept another day of inaction from Congress on gun safety reforms like this. That's why I'm counting on your help to demand lawmakers finally take action to prevent other parents from having a child taken by gun violence.

I can't thank you enough for taking action today – and for all that you do to help me honor Daniel's too-short life. Your support is how we'll continue to make meaningful change that will save lives.
